  2. End date, choose the last day of your range.
  3. Include the end date, leave this ticked to count the end date too, or untick it to stop one day earlier.
  4. Read the business days, total days and weekend days, they update instantly as you change the dates.

How business days are counted

This calculator counts every day from Monday to Friday between the two dates you pick and excludes Saturdays and Sundays. It walks through the range one day at a time, checking the weekday for each date: if a day falls on a weekend it is added to the weekend count, otherwise it counts as a business day. The total days figure is simply every calendar day in the range, so business days plus weekend days always add up to it.

By default, the calculator does not include public holidays, but you can tick "Exclude US federal holidays" to also leave out the 11 US federal holidays (New Year's Day, MLK Day, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas) for every year your date range touches, including the weekend-shifted observed date when a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday. Bank holidays, national days and regional closures outside the US still vary too widely to account for automatically, so subtract those yourself if they matter for your deadline.

Note: The end date is included by default. Untick "Include the end date" when you want to measure the gap up to but not counting the final day, for example when counting working days remaining before a deadline.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a business day?

A business day is any weekday from Monday to Friday. This calculator counts those days between your two dates and leaves out Saturdays and Sundays.

Does this include public holidays?

You can choose. By default it only removes weekends, but ticking "Exclude US federal holidays" also leaves out the 11 US federal holidays for every year your date range touches. Holidays outside the US, and regional or company-specific closures, are still not accounted for, so subtract those yourself if they matter for your deadline.

Does it count the start and end dates?

The start date is always counted. The end date is included by default, but you can untick "Include the end date" to stop the count one day earlier.
