About ToolFern

ToolFern is a growing collection of free, no-nonsense online tools for everyday tasks — converting photos, working with PDFs, generating handy bits and pieces. Our goal is simple: make the small jobs fast, free and genuinely private.

Our mission

Most “free online tools” come with a catch — they upload your personal files to a server, push you toward a paid plan, slap on a watermark, or cap how much you can do. We think that’s backwards. The web platform in modern browsers is powerful enough to do most of this work on your own device, so that’s exactly how we build.

How our tools work

Wherever it’s technically possible, our tools run 100% in your browser. When you convert a HEIC photo, for example, the whole process happens locally on your computer or phone. Your file is never sent to us, never stored, and never seen by anyone. That makes the tools faster, more private, and able to keep working even on a shaky connection.

What we’re building

We started with an HEIC to JPG converter and are steadily adding image, PDF and everyday utility tools. Each one is designed to do one job well, load quickly, and work just as nicely on a phone as on a desktop.
