How to sign a PDF

  1. Add your PDF. Drag it onto the box or click to browse. The tool reads it on your device and shows how many pages it has.
  2. Draw your signature. Sign inside the white pad with your mouse, trackpad or finger. Press Clear if you want to start the signature over.
  3. Pick the page and corner. Choose the last page, all pages, or a single page number, then pick which corner the signature should sit in. Bottom right is the default.
  4. Add and download. Press Add signature & download. Your signature is stamped onto the page and a signed PDF downloads right away.

Is signing a PDF online safe?

With this tool, yes. Everything happens inside your web browser. When you draw in the pad, the strokes become a small transparent image, and that image is embedded into your PDF using JavaScript that runs on your own computer. Your file is never uploaded to a server, and neither is your signature, there is no account to create and nothing is stored after you close the tab. That matters because a signature is sensitive: many free signing sites push your document through their servers, where it can be logged or kept. Here the work is purely local, so the only copy of your signed PDF is the one that lands in your downloads folder.

A few practical notes. A drawn signature is a visual mark, the same kind you would make with a pen on paper, and it is widely accepted for everyday forms, internal approvals and letters. It is not a cryptographic digital signature with a certificate, so if a contract specifically requires a certified e-signature you should use a dedicated provider for that document. For most everyday paperwork though, a clear hand-drawn signature placed in the right spot is exactly what the other side is looking for.

Placing the signature where you want it

The signature is scaled to a sensible width and tucked a small margin in from the edge, so it sits neatly in the corner you choose rather than crowding the text. Pick Last page when you only need to sign at the end of a contract, All pages when each sheet needs initialing, or type a single page number to target one exact page. Because the result is a standard PDF, it opens and prints anywhere, and the person receiving it sees your signature baked into the page just as if you had signed a printed copy.
